    Lily Nguyen has a BFA in technical theatre from the Cornish College of the Arts. She is a current member of Implied Violence. Her background is, foremost, collaborative workings of sound design, audio engineering and field recording for unconventional theatres and individual artists. Lily worked as Assistant Sound Technician at On The Boards where she was exposed to work from local artists as well as touring dance and theatre companies from New York and Chicago. This experience was the catalyst for her aesthetic – movement, performance art, and theatrics fused with sound design. Her most recent work was as Sound Designer for Implied Violence on a show performed at the (con)temporary Gallery, in Reno, Nevada. She participated in the Womens’ Prison Project for the Pat Graney Company as Visual Artist and Sound Designer. She has also been worked with established companies like On The Boards and the Pat Graney Company as well as with the local emerging companies Theater Unlocked, A.A.Theatre Society and Dead Bird Movement.

    Jessie Smith is a founding member of Implied Violence and currently the ensemble’s Treasurer. She is also Artistic Director of the Seattle-based modern dance company Dead Bird Movement. In addition, Jessie dances for Amy O’Neal and Zeke Keeble’s company Locust.
